Other missions

Malawi Floods

In January 2015, Malawi experienced devastating flooding that affected over 1 million people, displaced more than 336,000, and resulted in 100 fatalities. The floods caused widespread damage to crops, livestock, and infrastructure. In response to a request from the Malawian government, an UNDAC (UN Disaster Assessment and Coordination) team was deployed by UN OCHA to assess the situation and provide guidance.

Cambodia Emergency Preparedness

IHP supported UNDAC in Cambodia’s disaster preparedness efforts by deploying ICT modules and specialists. The team provided essential communication tools, including satellite phones and internet access, enabling effective coordination and planning. This mission enhanced Cambodia's capacity to respond to future disasters.

Farchana Hub Upgrade

Luxembourg and Germany conducted an upgrade mission to the Farchana Humanitarian Hub, refurbishing key installations and expanding overall capacity to better support inter‑agency operations for the Chad–Sudan cross‑border humanitarian response.
