Namibia Floods

During the 2009 Namibia floods, IHP supported UNDAC by deploying ICT modules and technical experts to establish vital communication networks. The team provided satellite phones, internet access, and operational support, enabling effective coordination and rapid needs assessments.

Malawi Floods

In January 2015, Malawi experienced devastating flooding that affected over 1 million people, displaced more than 336,000, and resulted in 100 fatalities. The floods caused widespread damage to crops, livestock, and infrastructure. In response to a request from the Malawian government, an UNDAC (UN Disaster Assessment and Coordination) team was deployed by UN OCHA to assess the situation and provide guidance.

Benin Floods

During the 2009 Benin floods, IHP supported UNDAC by deploying ICT modules and technical specialists to enhance coordination in flood-affected areas. The team provided essential telecommunications, internet access, and operational support, enabling rapid needs assessments and effective relief efforts.
